The C10 system is a self contained hand held screwfeeding unit with a standard 10” diameter hard anodized alloy vibratory bowl feed. The system is PLC controlled and has full optic track fill control which also shuts-off the bowl vibration when the buffer track is filled. The hardened tool steel and stainless steel escapement components only have one moving part which minimizes wear and potential for jamming. The essential components in the escapement are NON adjustable to prevent tampering and other non authorized changes being made to important components that govern the reliability and feedability of the system. The system is housed in an acoustic enclosure with a top fill window. The handpiece is of the telescoping style and can also be configured to allow a set-to depth operation for height critical or woodworking operations. The handpiece is all tool steel heat treated to 60 Rockwell C, and the jaws are hardened 440C stainless steel. A wide variety of push to start tools can be accommodated onto this system..
The C11 system is a self contained hand held screwfeeding unit with a self advancing cartridge unit which allows the use of ‘push and non ‘push to start’ tools to be used by an operator as a push to start system. The Bowl feeder portion of the system is virtually the same as the C10 above, except for some additional PLC capabilities built in. The handpiece uses a small air switch or proximity switch to determine when the operator applies the fastener to the work piece, the tool will start automatically as will the forward bit advance to install the fastener.
Upon torque shut-off the system will wait until the operator start to pull away from the operation at which time anther screw is delivered instantly to the jaws set. The bit having been retracted to receive the screw now moves forward and locks the fastener into “headlock” where it cannot accidentally move back up inside the jaw set again. This system can operate at approx. 50 –55 screws per min.*
The C12 SMART DRIVE system is a self contained hand held screwfeeding unit with a self advancing cartridge unit which allows full error trapping and auto-solutions. We monitor the screwdriving sequence and if the operator or process fails to seat the screw correctly, the bit stay forward out of the jaws automatically, and the audible/ visual warning signals go on. The operator can then finish the fastener fully, or remove it and apply a new screw. When the operation is completed successfully the bit auto-retracts and a new screw is immediately provided into the jaw set , the audio visual warnings stop, the green light is lit then the process can continue. The button / light package allows the operator to manually advance the bit out of the driver and use the system for rework (It is now out of Smartdrive Mode). Re-pressing the button will engage Smartdrive mode and provide a screw to the jaws. The system also has a manual reset feature which is normally a lit button, but can also be a key-switch
The C14 SMART DRIVE 2 system is a self contained hand held screwfeeding unit with a self advancing cartridge unit which allows full error trapping and auto-solutions. We also have provided a qualifier system to allow batch counting, numeric display of count, good / bad indicator, audible beep on completion of batch and an enhanced level of error trapping on the system. This unit can be used as with all Smartdrive with Pneumatic and electric Dc tools. The Smartdrive 2 has a Windows based charting, point/data, and graphing capability, which allows manufacturing engineers to set up the system from a Laptop PC and archive multiple data reading to analyze problem assemblies. The system is designed to operate in the three different modes i.e. Smartdrive 2 Smartdrive 1 and normal C11 modes, for various levels of production assurance.
OPERATOR CONTROLLED FIXTURED DRIVE SPINDLE SYSTEMS
The C20 Slimdrive based system is a self contained fixture screwfeeding unit with a self advancing slide unit which allows the rapid installation of screws under operator control. Full error trapping is standard with these systems as we detect spindle upper and lower position, torque shut-off from the tool and screw presence sensors. When these signals are processed at the correct time we will verify the correct assembly of the application. We can also advise what went wrong with the process. i.e cross threading, screw stripping, etc. The simple yet rugged construction of the Slimdrive series allows for 190inlbs of torque to be driven through the unit and a 6” – 8” stroke is available as standard. The C20 allows for a two hand anti-tie down start system . This basic operator controlled package does not have multiple error display and correction capabilities. The system uses the same feeder system as all the CEM units.
