The Op-Assist tool stand is a system designed to assist operators using straight case screwdrivers and Nutrunner systems to provide additional of total vertical assistance to keep proper bit/ fastener head engagement prevents “cam out” screw head damage in most applications )
This Op-assist stand will apply an additional 20lbs ( 88 N ) of controlled thrust onto the fasteners head, on demand. The unit is also designed to be fail safe” should the operator let go of the system, it will gently retract to the home and clear position.. Even in the event of a complete pneumatic failure the system will not fall down onto the operator as with some of the competitors products. This product is also available in kit form to fit existing CP Desoutter D53 stands currently in use.
A roof mount version ( inverted use ) is available and can be secured to roof beams or other suitable structural elements in the workplace. This offers greater flexibility and more usable workspace on benches and desk tops.
The OP-ASSIST PRO stand was developed for higher torque capabilities and significantly longer reach than the existing stands available. The system uses high quality rigid linear bearings for smooth axis motions, while maintaining the strength and rigidity required for a solid , quality feel. The center ‘running rod’ is supported at top and bottom by steel plates which in turn brace themselves on a 80mm by 80 mm aluminum extruded section.
‘Zero Force’ balancers provide a smooth yet safe means of load balancing on the stand. Either single or dual units can be used to offset any heavy tool payload. This system will be offered with linear encoders to determine position. This feature allows specific sequential bolt tightening within the operational footprint of the stand and will disable the tool when a bolt is not ready to be tightened.
Extended reach units have been requested by customers especially on larger surface area’s where a down assist force is useful and aids with operator ergonomics. This has the cost saving ability to prevent force related injuries and the cost associated with medical claims
