Automatic Nut Drivers & Nut Feeding
Carlson automatic nut drivers and nut feeding systems are proven to drmatically increase production volume in an automated assembly environment.
Our nut feeders and automatic nut drivers are technologically superior.
For applications requiring the automatic feeding and driving of nuts, our engineering team has developed several solutions that make the process of automated nut assembly simple.
- Our nut driving product family can drive nuts to depth or torque, with torque ranges between 1 Nm and 1,000+ Nm.
- Using a servo or a fixtured positioning system, our nut drivers can be articulated to work perfectly on complex applications.
- All of our nut drivers come standard with high-quality linear guide bearings for a long life, meaning your investment will last for years to come.
- Our 3-step fastener alignment verification process means our nut feeders can operate for hours without maintenance or errors.
- Carlson nut feeding systems have minimal pinch points and can be fully enclosed for advanced levels of safety in operation.
- Our standard polyethylene bowl coating prevents abrasion on fasteners, meaning less damage to the end product due to the manufacturing process.
Carlson Engineering nut feeders are designed to work for hours on end without maintenance or errors.
Because you don't have time to sit around and wait for jams to be fixed.
With our years of experience in engineering custom nut feeding solutions for manufacturers across a wide range of industries, we have developed a simple, 3-step process that virtually eliminates nut jams along the track – meaning your assembly process doesn’t have to get slowed down.

Step 1: Sorting Air Jet
The first step in our 3-step fastener verification is our Non-Adjustable Sorting Air jet – a highly pressurized stream of air that ejects misaligned nuts from the track - our first line of defense.

Step 2: Qualifying Track Cover:
The second step is a Non-Adjustable Bowl Track Qualifying Cover, which prevents misaligned nuts from passing underneath its clearance and moving down the escapement track in the first place.

Step 3: Optic Sensor
When the optic sensor notices that the escapement is full of nuts, the step feeder's nut elevator will stop lifting nuts to the track. This prevents back pressure and jams in the feeder tray.

All of our automatic drive heads can be configured to drive other fasteners, like nuts, instead of screws.
Below, you will find examples of our top Handheld automatic nut driver models, fixtured nut driver models, multi-spindle nut driver models, and our CoBot-compatible nut driving end effectors.
