Learn more about single-spindle automated screwdriver head types.
Every assembly is different. That’s why we’ve engineered adaptability into our single-spindle automatic screwdrivers & drive heads – so that no matter the application, we have a drive head that will work for you. Each type of automated screw driving head has different qualities which make it more suited for a particular style of fastener driving.
Type 1 Drive Heads
Type 1 drive heads include a dual-stage travel slide, allowing drive heads to first advance to a part, and then advance the jaws after extending using separate jaw & bit transport strokes.
Type 2 Drive Heads
Primarily used for pick & place presenter applications with a vacuum finder tube installed. Type 2 drive heads can be either single-stage or dual-stage.
Type 3 Drive Heads
Type 3 drive heads are intended for driving pre-placed screws, thread checking, bottle capping, or torque inspection. Type 3 drive heads can be single-stage or dual-stage.
Type 4 Drive Heads
Type 4 drive heads are classified as any drive head with a single-stage travel slide – opposite of the Type 1 drive heads. The jaw & bit strokes are not independent.
